The Catholic Charities Housing Office (CCHO) provides affordable housing and comprehensive services for individuals and families facing homelessness. Our programs are focused on delivering long-term, stable housing solutions designed to address the unique needs of individuals and families experiencing housing instability.

The programs and services available from CCHO include the following:

  • Affordable Family Housing - Located in Albany and Rensselaer counties and targeted to households that have income below 60 percent of the area medium income (AMI). Preference is given to veteran households.

  • Family Apartment Programs - This program offers a range of more than 20 scattered-site apartments, presenting permanent and cost-effective housing solutions. Several apartments are designated for homeless families and include case management services, while others simply offer a low-cost housing option without additional supports.

  • Rapid Rehousing - Help for individuals/families that require rental subsidies to move toward self-sufficiency. Subsidies are time-limited and available in Fulton, Montgomery, Herkimer, Otsego, and Schoharie counties.

  • Single Room Occupancy (SRO) Residences - Single Room Occupancy (SRO) Residences throughout the Capital Region that offer permanent housing for those who are homeless and in need of low-cost housing with supportive services. Services include case management, meal programs, information, and referrals.

For individuals seeking emergency shelter information, please see your county's Department of Social Services Office, or contact the Homeless and Traveler's Aid Society at (518) 463-2124.
